We haven't launched yet — here's exactly what we'll be
Most car-sharing platforms take a big, blended cut and bury the rest in fees you can't see. The Car Guild is being built on the opposite idea: a small flat fee, incidental charges handed straight back to hosts, and the freedom to bring your own insurer. Here's our commitment, before we've asked you for a thing.
In plain terms: this is an early-stage project, not a live service. We're gauging interest from LA hosts and drivers while we build. Nothing on this page is a live price or a guaranteed launch date. It's what we're committing to deliver.
The whole reason to build another car-sharing platform is to do the money differently. So we'll say it out loud, and you can hold us to it.
A single modest cut on the rental: the kind you can see and check, not a quarter-or-more blended take. We'll publish the exact number the day we set it.
Cleaning, delivery, and similar add-ons are the host's work and the host's money. Our intent is that hosts keep those in full, rather than the platform skimming a share or a processing cut off the top.
We're designing the platform so a host can use their own qualifying commercial coverage if they prefer, or an option we help arrange. The point is choice and a price you can see, instead of coverage bundled invisibly into a big commission.
Every charge, itemized. No percentage service fee that quietly grows with the trip, no line items that appear only at checkout. If we can't show you where a dollar goes, we won't charge it.
We won't show fake sign-up counters, invent a launch date we can't hit, or quote coverage we haven't secured. When something isn't decided yet, we'll say so, including on this page.
Insurance is usually the most opaque part of car sharing, bundled into the platform's cut so you never see what it really costs. We're building it the other way around: as its own visible line, with room for you to choose.
Leave your email and we'll keep you posted as we build, and reach out for your honest take on what the fee and the rules should be. No obligation, and you're free to walk away anytime.
We'll only email you about The Car Guild: updates as we build, and an early-access note when there's something real to try. We won't sell or share your address, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
We'll keep you posted as this comes together, and we'll ask for your honest input along the way.
